bmw_logo.jpgUsing their new Vector LED Light Bulbs, Qnuru upgraded BMW's parking lights and flood lights, reducing their Ohio customer service facility's exterior lighting energy consumption by more than 80% and providing enhanced security for its nearly 800 employees.

The BMW customer service center is housed in a 221,000 square foot, Class A office building whose employees provide customer support 15 hours a day, 7 days a week for the automotive manufacturer’s financial services division. Because of the extended hours of operation and large number of employees,
BMW wanted a solution that would enhance its security lighting as well as reduce its energy costs. The company also was seeking LED lighting solutions that would allow them to retrofit rather than replace their existing light fixtures in order to lower their upfront investment cost, speed the implementation process and honor the company’s aggressive efforts to reduce its environmental footprint by minimizing its contributions to the waste stream whenever possible. BMW has been named the most environmentally sustainable automobile company in the world by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for five consecutive years. In the U.S., two of its regional distribution centers recently received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certifications from the U.S. Green Building Council and its $4.4 billion South Carolina manufacturing plant now sources over 60% of its energy from a local landfill in the form of recycled methane gas.
